I like the use of layers and multiple pictures in my images. It adds more depth and makes the image more abstract. I also like that most of my pictures were black and white (except for a few) and then I added colour by using Photoshop tools, filters and brushes. I like how my images do not illustrate my lyrics but are related. I had tried to give my images a certain emotion or atmosphere. I think I accomplished this which is something I am also happy with. I like the abstractness given by the different opacities. I also like the position of the text within the image so that the pictures do not only sit on top of the image, but are put as a part of the image.
What I find the least successful within this image is that th image may not be related enough to the image. Also I do not like in the first image the many clocks which doesn’t seem to have a reason, nor does it accomplish anything. I also do not like how the brushes seem to random and instead of adding to the image, or bringing the image together it distracts the viewer. I also find that the images look very similar, because they all incorporate a various amount of pictures, some of the same.
One thing I would improve had I had the opportunity to redo this assignment is to make the images match the lyrics more (or perhaps picked different lyrics) and created images that looked less alike. I wish I hadn’t used so many dark colours which created a very dull image.
The Image which was the most successful out of the three, I think was the second image (the purple and yellow image) because the image has the most colour, the text was well placed and I like the house in the bottom right corner. I find the image uses brushes in a good way- which doesn't distract from the image or the lyrics. I also like that you can tell the lyrics are more important than the image. I also like the use of the picture of the fence.

Reflection- Barbara Kruger Style Piece
In my piece of art is a high contrast black and white image (with increased noise) of a girl kneeling/ puking into a toilet. (Showing a bulimic girl). You cannot she her face or puke, but rather her head ducked into the toilet bowl. She is wearing a black tank top. Half of the image (divided vertically) is inverted. Near the bottom there are the words: "Real Beauty Is Surreal" written. To add colour to the image, there are faint yellow lines across the image.
The message I tried to give in this piece of art is that society's and the media’s expectations are unrealistic and this causes negative actions by women. It tells us how we should look by using distorted images, demeaning language creating what they think is the perfect woman, only looking on their body image. Even though women are given these unachievable standards they still attempt to achieve what society says is beautiful. And their search for perfection can have many negative effects such as bad self images, eating disorders and an increase of sales of beauty products and cosmetic surgery.
I like this piece of art because it contains a message and simply isn't a gathering of meaning less images and pictures to achieve nothing. It contains a goal to make it's viewer question what kind images and thoughts they let rule their lives. It also shows the possible effects of a negative self-image. I would have liked to have mad more colour or affects to create a more effective piece.

Barbara Kruger Critique
The piece I chose to critique is a piece with two faces in black and white. The one person's face is in the top left corner and the other person is at the bottom right. Dividing them is a white diagonal line from the bottom left corner to the top right. In the line are the words in black and white font that says "You destroy what you think is difference."
The artist is giving a message in the piece of art that individuality and uniqueness is beautiful- and necessary. It is not right to destroy what is difference. It also says we are all equal so what appears to be difference should be embraced. It is telling us focusing or treating differences as a weakness is wrong.
I like Kruger's work because it is abstract and makes me think. I also enjoy it because it is trying to provoke social change, it's different and the meaning isn't always obvious (the image doesn't illustrate the words). Also, because the image is black and white we concentrate on the message. Also, I like it because the image doesn't over power the words.

Moon Lander Redesign Reflection
The original moon lander game was a very dark game where a space ship was landing on the moon. When the player failed to land on the designated landing pads, the lander would then blow up. I had redesigned it to a cherry landing on ice cream, ice cream sundae, and/or a banana split. What I liked about my redesign is that is used lots of colours so it looked more appealing and it incorporated the use of lights, mid tones and darks through the images used. I also liked it's uniqueness and the creative idea it contains.
What I didn't like about my redesign is that the third scene was unsuccessful because the cherry cannot land on the mountain of ice cream. Another thing I did not enjoy about my game redesign is the confetti looks slightly awkward because there are only a few pieces of confetti that fall. I also did not like how my cherry blows up because it does not seem realistic for a cherry to disappear.
My Redesign is better than the original because it isn't as dark, dull or colourless. There are a variety of bright colours and tones. I also like it better because it contains a more interesting background and creating the animated confetti created a more appealing game. I also thought my redesign was better because it appealed to an audience of young people because it looks like a celebration.
